Keynes and the History of Probability: The influence of Locke, Leibniz, and Hume<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Expositor | Dr. Francisco Javier Aristimu\u00f1o | CONICET \/ CITECDE-UNRN<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sobre el libro<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>John Maynard Keynes es conocido por sus contribuciones a la econom\u00eda; sin embargo, dedic\u00f3 casi dos d\u00e9cadas a explorar el concepto de probabilidad. Su extensa obra culmin\u00f3 en <em>A Treatise on Probability <\/em>(1921), donde desarroll\u00f3 una noci\u00f3n \u00fanica de probabilidad que a\u00fan divide a los acad\u00e9micos en cuanto a su relevancia para la teor\u00eda econ\u00f3mica.<\/p>\n<p>Este libro profundiza en las conexiones entre las ideas de Keynes sobre la probabilidad y las de fil\u00f3sofos de la Ilustraci\u00f3n temprana, como Locke, Leibniz y Hume, quienes trabajaron en ella antes de que los matem\u00e1ticos se apropiaran del tema. Estos autores enmarcaron la probabilidad como un sustituto del conocimiento cuando este no est\u00e1 disponible. Keynes ampli\u00f3 estas ideas y se involucr\u00f3 directamente con Hume en el razonamiento inductivo, situando su concepto de probabilidad en una tradici\u00f3n filos\u00f3fica m\u00e1s amplia. Al rastrear estas ra\u00edces ilustradas, este libro profundiza en la comprensi\u00f3n de Keynes de la probabilidad, aclarando algunas de las diferencias clave con el enfoque subjetivo de Ramsey y De Finetti. Tambi\u00e9n resume los aspectos en los que la teor\u00eda de la probabilidad y su correspondiente noci\u00f3n de incertidumbre son cruciales para el pensamiento econ\u00f3mico de Keynes, en particular en su <em>Teor\u00eda General del Empleo, el Inter\u00e9s y el Dinero<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Este libro est\u00e1 dirigido a lectores interesados \u200b\u200ben la filosof\u00eda de la probabilidad y ofrece a los economistas una comprensi\u00f3n m\u00e1s completa del marco intelectual de Keynes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>LUGAR | FCE-UBA | Aula Interna Sector Olivera (frente al aula 108). Actualmente es Investigador Asistente del CONICET en el Instituto de Estudios en Ciencia, Tecnolog\u00eda, Cultura y Desarrollo (Instituto CITECDE).
